Toyota, the automaker most closely associated with hybrids is still not giving up hydrogen fuel cells. Here is the FCV-R, a concept that kind of snuck into the Detroit Auto Show last week without much notice.

Part of the reason was, that was much more important vehicle for Toyota there to steal the show. However, the R-FCV (FCV for vehicles with fuel cells and R is the "Revolution and Reality") is important because it reminds us that Toyota is still planning a field of hydrogen car in 2015. Auto Salon year, only a few years from now. Gulp.
Honda and General Motors have made the most noise about the benefits of hydrogen. Toyota, for its strength in hybrid fuel economy did not say much. But that could change as the production version of this car is ready for commercialization.
