Toyota Vice President of Communications Jim Columbus said the new car has a lot of attention last week at the Auto Show in Detroit annual meeting. He says he hopes the same in Charleston.

"It's a subcompact car. We call Prius C, "City", because we believe that this vehicle will be quite attractive. [It is] the people who can live in the city where parking is priced, but still looking for a car with great mileage and you're looking for some eco-friendly ".

Columbus said that the Prius C is the best of both worlds.

"If you live in an environment where they have a short drive, you can plug your car in. You can drive the vehicle in electric only mode. Then when the battery is removed, is driving a 50 mpg Prius. "

In the past, buying a Prius was a bit expensive, but Columbus insisted on the "C" will be the more affordable Prius to date.

"We believe that the vehicle will be sold for less than $ 19,000. So now, people also see a large fuel consumption, they will see hybrid technology as a great value. "

Almost all major car companies have an online hybrid of your account and will be presented to the International Automobile Salon in West Virginia, which is set for January 27 to 29 years in the Charleston Civic Center.

Show organizers say the event is an opportunity to see the latest automotive technology and make some comparisons.
