Automobile:Toyota Yaris Reviews 2012

The Toyota Yaris is a subcompact automobile produced by Toyota since 1999. Between 1999 and 2005, some markets received the same vehicles under the Toyota Echo name. Toyota has used the "Yaris" and "Echo" names on the export version of several different Japanese-market models. Here go for 2011 Toyota Yaris Reviews: Feature And Safety.
Toyota Yaris has sold over five.5-million Yaris subcompacts worldwide since the first generation model launched in 1999. It was called the Echo when it arrived in Canada in 2003, however, it changed to Yaris when the second gen launched in 2005. Over 84,000 units have been sold here since, with over 53% of those in Quebec.

Though it has been stretched by 75 mm (to three,900 mm) and given a more dynamic exterior, On the opposite, a brand spanking new face and sleeker profile, Yaris is still the shortest vehicle in its class. The front pillar is farther forward for better visibility and the body structure is stiffer and more responsive for better handling.

The redesigned hatchback is still available with or doors. And, power still comes from a one.5-litre engine making 106 hp and 103 lb.-ft. of torque through a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearbox. It retains the independent MacPherson front and rear torsion bar suspension, but changes to the geometry have resulted in a wheelbase that's 50 mm longer (to two,510 mm). Overall height is lowered (one,510 mm, from one,525 mm) to improve agility.

A smoked brow accent above the headlamps blends partially in to the hood to solidify the sporty appearance; while a brand spanking new single wiper technique reduces weight without sacrificing wiping performance. In the rear, the license plate has been moved from the bumper to the hatch for a cleaner look. The tail lamp design follows the body contours and helps to further emphasize the sweeping belt line.

Toyota yaris engineers and designers have made giant improvements to the inside. In addition to increased driver legroom and more rear stool leg space, cargo volume has grown slightly. Capacity with the stool up is 433 liters on the three-door and 442 on the five-door, with both getting 60/40 split folding rear seats.

Carefully-chosen materials, surface gaining and contrasting color treatments contribute to a more refined interior. The downward angle of the steering wheel has been adjusted to improve the relationship to the driver, and the tool cluster returns to a horizontal layout for a more driver-friendly, ergonomic design.

Other new features include driver knee and front stool cushion airbags (nine airbags total), driver stool height manipulation, outside temperature display, multi-information display, power door locks, all-season floor mats, rear-seat cup-holders, a brand spanking new audio technique with AUX and USB inputs, and Bluetooth.

Buyers can select from grades: the entry-level three-door CE & five-door LE & SE. The three-door gets a new passenger-side walk-in method, which returns the front stool to the set position after it's been moved to permit passengers access to the rear stool. Changes to the front stool design offer 35 mm more knee room; &, adults can sit comfortably in the rear.

At the top of the line-up, the SE gets steering wheel-mounted audio controls, 16-inch alloy wheels, rear disc brakes (other trims get rear drums), sport tuned suspension & cruise control for the manual transmission. At the other finish of the spectrum, the CE does not include a/c, power windows, power mirrors, cruise control, key less entry or even a tachometer.

Even still, the new Yaris drives excellently. The electrical power steering has nice weight & feedback, gearshifts are smooth & the vehicle accelerates well for safe passing. There has a tiny bit of wind noise & a fifth gear (on automatics) would be welcome at highway speeds, but the automobile is well balanced & predictable. A four.7 meter turning diameter helps it get around city streets with ease, & parallel parking is a breeze.

After 154 km on mostly rural stretches, our automatic check automobile averaged 7.3 liters per 100 km combined.

Toyota could have completed more to make the on-paper comparisons better, but even without heated seats, six-speed transmissions & better fuel economy, it meets the needs of lots of at this cost point with Toyota's star safety method, a more refined interior, sportier appearance & improved performance.
